With this workshop session we initiate an emphasis on understanding fundamental concepts.
The complexities of the Earth system are built upon some basics of physical science. We will spend several sessions exploring fundamental concepts such as density, pressure, heat and heat transfer, and making the conceptual connections to the applied Earth system. The greater context can serve to both engage a learner in the fundamental ideas while also providing a larger background for great extension activities in which those fundamentals can be applied later on.

This session will focus on the concepts of density and pressure and how they relate to the circulation of the ocean and atmosphere as well as formation of the Earth's crust.

Please be metacognitive about your learning during this workshop by completing the survey. Thank you!
